I did this recipe except instead of banana I used a 4 oz jar of sweet carrots. She loved them. However I think next time we will double the carrots because I didn't think you could taste them. I cooked these a total of 31 minutes.

I also made this cookie here: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/274860383487749416/
With a jar of baby apples, again 4 oz. and used apple juice. Had a little more flavor but again I think I will double the apples to 8 oz. She loves her cookies and it didn't cost me anything because I already had everything. I cooked these a total of 15 minutes. They were more flat since I used a cutter and easier for her to eat.
Baby snacks are expensive. I paid over $2 for each container I got the other day so I figured why not try it myself. One of the above recipes does call for cinnamon and I did skip that since she is still little and may have a reaction.
Have fun baking and let me know how it turns out.

Cilantro skillet chicken breast
I got a lot of cilantro seeds for free a while back and its time to cook with them. This was a hit the other night
2 large chicken breast
Fresh cilantro cut up
Garlic salt
Lemon pepper seasoning
Butter
Put butter in skillet, add chicken. Dice up cilantro, add to pan. Then add the garlic salt, and lemon pepper seasoning. It was so juicy and tasted delicious. I did it over white rice and gravy.

Altered version of goulash
So I really wanted goulash but apparently was out of tomatoes so I altered a little.
Ingridents:
1 pound hamburger
Mushrooms
2 cans of spaghetti sauce
1 pound macaroni
1 large onion
1 green bell pepper
Cook the hamburger, then drain and put in fish. Cook the onion, pepper and mushrooms till done, then add the meat back to pan as well as sauce. Cook noodles, mix it all together and woo lah.
Was good enough for seconds.

Pizza bake special
Ingredients:
1 jar Ragu pasta sauce
1 package armor pepperoni
1 can of mushrooms
Shredded cheese (your choice on kind, I used Colby jack)
2 small cans of pillsbury grand jr biscuits. (Total of 10 biscuits)
3 bratwurst sausages
1st: Spray your baking dish with some pam
2nd: Cut biscuits into pieces and place in the bottom of your pan
3rd: add pizza sauce on top
4th: Layer on the pepperoni
5th: cut up pieces of the sausage and add on top of pepperoni
6th: add some cheese
7th: add the rest of your sausage
8th:add some more pepperoni
9th: use the rest of your cheese
10th: use the rest of the can of mushrooms
Bake for 20-25 minutes on 375 degrees
Edit: we think that adding another jar of sauce would be better and we didnt add enough cheese for our liking. Also another 10 minutes wouldnt hurt the biscuits, they were done but not enough for my family. Turned out so good we had no leftovers.

Welcome
Welcome to my blog of food inspiration. This year my goal for my family was to cut back on the salt and sugar intake and have more home made meals instead of pasta out of a packet or box. It was beginning to get very unhealthy and we are not getting any younger. And I don't want my daughter to grow up that way. I think its important to have her grow up helping me make dinner and enjoying good food. I understand sometimes you have to have a quick meal but once a week is better than seven, which is what we did a lot in 2015. So get your pen and paper ready to write down some of the awesome recipes I am trying out with my family.
